JCE Belize Partnership: Our first Belizean meal at Hurricanes

Jacksonville Commons Elementary School is excited to be traveling with the Northside District Schools to San Pedro, Belize, April 13-20th, to establish a new partnership with schools there. Mr. Ehmann, Mrs. Curlee, Mrs. Glasmyer, and Mrs. Smith will primarily be working with San Pedro Roman Catholic School, and La Isla Bonita School to develop an understanding of Belize and the country’s system of education, create a broader international perspective and take necessary steps to establish a meaningful and lasting partnership with our international partners and develop a plan in coordination with San Pedro schools for continued exchange programs for teachers, staff members and administrators.

Upon our arrival we will be learning the culture, meeting with partnership schools, observing classrooms and best practices, providing professional development, and co-teaching. We will be using this blog to post interesting experiences and facts about Belize as we work through this international exchange opportunity. We look forward to connecting with you on our trip.
